63rd Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference is around the corner. It is a conference designed to help provide chemical engineers with cutting edge broad based technical sessions and symposia to help them remain competitive with a global environment. The main themes of this year’s conference are Resources, Energy and Environment. This year the conference is held in Frederiction, NB from October 20-23.
The CSChE conference has always been an amazing experience for students. It is a great opportunity to meet students from other universities, as well as build and strengthen bonds between your fellow classmates. We send a group of 25 students this year.
Congratulations to Devika Jain on winning FIRST PLACE for the Robert G. Auld Student Competition at the CSChE Conference, and to Bo Zhang winning the CSChE Local Section Scholarship! Also, our CSChE chapter won the Student Chapter Merit Award Honourable Mention!
The trip is PARTIALLY SUBSIDIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT, AND EARLY BIRD TICKETS ONLY COST $380 PER PERSON. After September 13th, the regular registration cost will be $430 per person. Registration will close on October 2nd, 2013.
This cost includes accommodation at the hotel, travel expenses and registration fees. You may be further reimbursed on top of the subsidy.These reimbursement cheques are issued to each person individually after the conference.

The Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference is an annual 3-day event where professors and industrial engineers discuss the critical issues faced by chemical engineers. There are also plenty of networking and social events, and students will have opportunities to showcase their contributions to the field through friendly competitions. This year, the conference will be held in FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK FROM OCTOBER 20th TO 23RD, 2013. We will leave on Sunday, October 19th and will be back to Toronto the night of October 22CD.
The trip is PARTIALLY SUBSIDIZED BY THE DEPARTMENT SO IT ONLY COSTS $350-$450 PER PERSON, which will cover accommodation at the hotel, travel expenses and registration fees. AND, you may be further reimbursed on top of the subsidy. These reimbursement cheques are issued to each person individually after the conference. EARLY BIRD TICKETS ($50 LESS) ARE AVAILABLE UNTI SEPTEMBER 13th, 2013.
CSChE is hosting the Summer Student Symposium on MONDAY, AUGUST 19th at 2PM. The symposium is a competitive event where you will have the opportunity to present to your professors, other faculty members, and most importantly, your peers.
You can participate in one of two competitions:
1) Reg Friesen Oral Presentation
2) Robert G. Auld Student Paper Competition
Recommended length for presentations is 15 minutes long. There will also be an allotted 5 minute question period afterwards.
The best presenters will be fully subsidized to attend the 63rd annual CSChE conference in Fredericton, New Brunswick, from October 20-23, 2013.
